I had my first proper social outing yesterday since my bc was diagnosed in October last year. I have been doing the usual shopping and doctor appointments but this was my first get dress up nicely outing.

It was my sisters wedding. Just a small event with only about 15 guests and she was married on the beach. She wore a beautiful short dress which she made herself and a shiny pair of sandals. No bouquet or anything formal except it was with a proper ordained minister and they also had communion on the beach after they were married.

I hadn't realised how pale my skin has become, not being out in the sun for months but I wore a shirt with half length sleeves and a straw hat and my spf sun protection in my makeup. I had to depart the beach at one stage after the wedding and everyone was worried about me but it was just  a hot flush and I needed to get out of the sun for a few mins. Likewise at the reception which was at an open air restaurant, a massive hot flush started and I snuck out to the car park under a shady tree for a few mins. Good thing I did as I haven't quite gotten my bowels nicely sorted out yet and I blew off some massive bouts of wind. Oh well, it only made the birds look a bit curious and there was no embarrassment. On the whole I had a lovely day out.

Sounds really lovely... So glad you had such a lovely day as you sure deserve it ?

And you made me laugh so hard with the wind bit - thank you for that and frankly so happy to hear some control of the gas comes back as I could not imagine at this stage getting to a point where I would not fear surprise explosions in front of my friends ??

I've  been out for a couple of group dinners  but a wedding is really special. I would also struggle with the sun aspect as I just find it too bright too hot etc presently. Glad you had a lovely day...and you look fab in a hat.

You look great. Glad you had a lovely time! I used to wear a broad brimmed hat each time I went out but I don't find my hot flushes as bad when I am out just sitting inside of an evening.

The wind thing made me laugh too. Glad I'm not the only one hahaha!

Sounds like you had a lovely day Brenda! and congratulations to your sister!

It's always nice to dress up!

I get you with the wind problem! I can just walk along and out it comes in time with my footsteps! It can be a bit embarrassing! Oh well :/

    You are looking well.....
