Happy International Women's Day!
Here are some of my favourite resources on the history of women in Australia.

A great global accomplishment of women has been raising awareness of breast cancer.
Breast cancer has been described in medical journals since antiquity, but it was poorly understood, as were women's health needs. Even up the 20th century, breast cancer was feared and discussed in hushed tones, as if it were shameful. The "Women's Field Army", run by the American Society for the Control of Cancer during the 1930s and 1940s, was one of the first organized campaigns to remove the taboo around breast cancer and promote early detection and prompt medical intervention. Since then, we've seen massive social progress, more educated and empowered women, and an increase in resources for treatments and research.
There's certainly more work to do, but we have a lot to be proud of.
