Grateful for each day
Hi everyone,
i just reread a post by Nadi dated 11th February. She so beautifully put into words the feelings for her husband that I have for my husband. I'm a bit down today, no reason but my husband always tries to boost me. We don't celebrate Valentine's Day but we just wish each other a lovely day.
When I look in the mirror and see a lady with no breasts, very little hair, I loose a lot of confidence and he always makes me feel better with just a comforting comment and smile. We have been through 3 diagnoses, a lumpectomy, 2 radiations, 2 mastectomies and chemo. We had a little time with afinitor that made me very sick. I say we because he was there at all times lifting my spirits.
As I have secondary bc in my lungs and bones I am grateful for each day. I am travelling quite well on faslodex and hope it stops progression.
I didn't want this to be a poor me post as so many wonderful ladies have done this or more.
I want to wish everyone a Happy healthy Valentine's Day no matter what you do just take a deep breath and enjoy.
PS as I was writing this he came through the door with red roses. I am grateful again!!!!
cheers
Karel????????

Agree, we don't do Valentine's Day either.....when things get tough, that's when true love shines... Don't really need a highly commercialised day to realise what we have....
Hope you have an easy day and week

I think we really appreciate our husbands so much more after diagnosis. 20 days after my bilateral mastectomy. ..I am full of love for my husband who sat by my side in hospital and cared for me 24 hours a day once discharged. I always loved him, but presently it seems amplified. Stay strong. Fight the fight. Kath X
