Happy Days

Hi all,

Hope you are travelling well. Today I have good reason to be happy. Firstly, I got the pathology results from the colonoscopy I had to have earlier this week and my GP was quick to say those magic words: "you don't have cancer" -woohoo!! So, although one of the polyps removed did have some pre-cancerous activity going on and so I will need a further colonoscopy in 6 months to monitor things, at this time I'm feeling really relieved to be rid of that sucker!

But the other, even more important reason I'm feeling happy is that I attended my son's Year 6 Graduation night last night. It was such a beautiful event and I'm just so grateful that I could be there to enjoy the walk down memory lane with some of the wonderful people from his school that supported us so well when I was sick. It was almost 4 years ago now that I was diagnosed and during that first 12 months I often wondered if I'd be around for things like this, so I'm feeling very grateful and blessed that I have been able to see my Will grow into a gorgeous young man, ready to take on the adventure of high school and to know that he was so well cared for by so many in our school community.

Thought you might like to see a pic of Will and one of his favourite teachers :-) Have a great weekend everyone xx

Oh, how lovely for you. So pleased that you have had good results.

congrats on your sons graduation. Certainly a big milestone in his life that you want to be there for. I also managed to see my daughter graduate after a 3 year course from musical theatre and got to see her final show the night before my mastectomy!

good luck to you and your family.

And just so you know, 5 years at high school goes in a flash!!!

Hi Linda, so lovely to hear from you. As you say, it is wonderful to be there for those big milestones and I'm glad you got to see your daughter's last show before your mastectomy, I'm sure it would have been a magical night for you and your family and a great pre-surgery distraction!

So true about those high school years - my daughter's just starting Year 12, but it doesn't seem that long ago we were celebrating her graduation from primary school :-)

Best wishes to you for a quick recovery and hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas. Jane xx

Thanks Trace. I am really proud of Will - he's had a bit to contend with in his young life so it's great to have these moments. Hugs, Jane xx
