Hi all appt with oncologist today my last AC tomorrow (apparently my cells are shot so 10 percent lower dose) that brings me then to weekly taxol for which most say its easier - lol I hope this is true but would love truthful answers.  My thyroid is now a lump more bloods - is this common it's not hurting but it's noticeable so all in all I'm a tad aniexty ridden my onc asked today why I didn't call up all the time when obviously my counts were low - I don't know possibly because I feel better at home monitoring then whinging? It's certainly a fight another question I've lost 5 kilos ( I can assure you that's not around my stomach and I was surprised) prior to this bc fun I was at gym most days so I feel some would be muscle tone? I think like most on here as I had 6 of 12 lymph nodes with positive to cancer cells I'm terrified that it's gone further or may do I'm sorry not like me to voice but feeling very unlike myself atm I went through early menopause 3 years ago no hormone replacement just gym occasional sleeping aid so now no muscle no energy an arm that has to rise lol love to you all xx

    Hi Tracey,

I am thinking of you and I hope you are okay I couldn't comment on your post as for some reason it wouldn't let me, I sent you a text if it's okay I'll give you a call tomorrow and we can have a chat, my oncologist has put me on Pacetaxel for 12 cycles starting monday, when do you start your 12 cycles? I am a little anxious about my first one as it's like starting chemo all over again I don't know what to expect side effects wise but us bc survivors nothing can beat us and I'm just a phone call away or send me an email if you can, my cousin arrives Thursday night so that's taking my mind off chemo big time, Priya is taking us shopping on Friday he's going to regret it LOL, I haven't had a girlie shopping trip in forever the only draw back I have a blood test that afternoon but my cousin is cool with that we've decided to take her out to dinner Friday night and Saturday night the whole family is going to a Gala Awards night at the Hilton Hotel in Darwin because we are into Athletics and both Priya and I are Athletics coaches and he's been nominated for Coach of the year and he's an Athlete also and has been nominated for Masters Athlete of the year and I have been nominated for Volunteer Of The Year which is a big thing for me because of the year I've had but we've all had a tough year, my cousin I think is planning on bringing the whole family in January that would be so awesome Angelena will get to meet her cousins for the first time fingers crossed it happens because it would be amazing, I hope to talk to you soon, sending you a huge hug and a big smile Anitaxx

I did 4 double dose AC. I'm now on week 7 of taxol. The last AC was the hardest one. It definitely affects your mood I reckon. I tried to ignore the sadness. It was the drugs talking. I tried not to listen.

Don't fear the taxol. I felt euphoric the first few weeks. No nausea. So much easier. Bit tired now but I still try and walk every day, even if only a few blocks instead of a few kms. My hair started growing back this week. Am loving the fuzz.

You're almost thru the worst. Well done.

    Hi Alsopt

Sorry you have had a hard time on the AC. I can relate- the same happened to me. I ended up in hospital; with zero white blood cells but I then had neulasta injections after each AC and that sorted it out. Re the Taxol, I found it so much easier. My hair started growing back and I had more energy so hopefully you will find it so much better. I  have lost 6 kilos since diagnosis. I changed my diet, but also I found it hard to eat during chemo. I also had positive nodes so yes, I worried that my weight loss was related. We worry about everything don't we?  With me though, I needed to drop some weight and now I am in a healthy range for my height. You have probably lost some muscle tone like you said especially if you were a regular gym goer.  I hope the taxol goes well for you. It will go quickly!

    take care

    Lisa
