Hi Tracey
wow! It's beautiful. You are really talented. Well done. How are you feeling these days after radiation? I am finishing mine this Friday. Then only Herceptin left until Jan 2016.
Are you back to normal routine yet?
Regards

Thanks Rosemary, glad to hear that you've finished rads, that's awesome. It took me a couple of weeks to recover from rads, as my skin peeled and got raw in spots. Thank goodness for that gel stuff they give you and the non stick dressings. Am now down to a little dressing and just sorbolene on the rest twice a day. Some follow up appointments to treat cording, and surgeon visit at the end of the month, then oncologist in November. Otherwise things are settling down at home, and whatever the new normal is. It's nice to be home again. Take good care of yourself, Trace ??????

Glad that things are settling a bit at home. I just finished my radiation this morning. They told me it continues to work for 2 weeks for it get a bit worse before it gets better. Hope I won't get any blisters as they said I might.
i am still having my Herceptin treatment till Jan 16 but at least that's only every 3 weeks so not too bad.
hope to see more of your picture. They are so soothing to look at.
thanks

Hi Rosemary, I experienced peeling with moist, weepy areas around my wound. The nurse advised to use solugel with a non stick dressing like melolin. I changed the dressing twice a day, and the solugel worked really well for healing. I'm now to the stage where I'm just applying sorbolene cream twice a day, as the skin is dry and flaky. My physio said that I might need some gentle massage around the area to reduce any scar tissue under the skin once all is healed and settled. Hope that this helps, I didn't anticipate these sort of challenges, but I guess we find out along the way. Take care, Trace ??????

Hi Tracey
thanks for your update. I was given solugel in week one because my wound cracked a little. I think it contained the wound as it didn't get worse nor heal it.
Hope it will heal soon now that the radiation is done and the black patch will fade soon. My radonc said it will take some time to fade. No sleeveless blouse for a while - vanity here LOL.
Glad that you are now down to sorbolene and get on with normal routine.
have a good weekend
