Here I go again!

I can not believe I am back here. In 2011 I had a lumpectomy on my left breast and radiation in early 2012. Have been taking Tamoxifen since. My health is excellent. I feel strong in mind and body.

Went for my annual mammogram and ultrasound in late November 2014 and was notified that a biopsy under ultrasound was required. Received the news late on the 23rd December 2014 that the lump (in same breast) is cancerous and I now need a mastectomy. My doctor (who did my lumpectomy in 2011) was under alot of pressure and was unable to give me any further information until my next appointment on the 8th January 2015. Feeling a whole mix of emotions right now, but staying positive.

  • Thank you Paula. It is difficult at this time of year when you want answers and details but the doctors are taking a well earned break. It is fortunate that I am going to be really busy for the next week! Take care and thanks for writing.

  • Thank you Tonya for sending me those words of support and your hug. Although you never want this to happen to anyone else, at the same time it is comfoting to know that others (unfortunatley too many) have already been where you are heading and that it will be OK.
