Thanks for posting marianne. The statement: 

Importantly, we hope that this newsletter will reflect the symbolism of a beacon — enlightening and showing the way. 

stands today just as well as it did then. 

Also, the welcome page mentions only women.It took BCNA 20 years to degender the material produced for education and publicity purposes, and a change to Pink Lady for the newsletter seems to me to be a giant leap back 20 years.
