Today we are celebrating National Close the Gap Day, a campaign to address disparities in health between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and non-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people measurable action to achieve Indigenous health equality by 2030.

BCNA is excited to be celebrating National Close the Gap Day and to be developing a strategy to ensure with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people affected by breast cancer receive the very best support, information, treatment and care appropriate to their individual needs. This year we will speak with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people affected by breast cancer to better understand people’s experiences, the needs and current gaps in the way we provide information and support, and as well as identify unmet needs and priorities.

If you would like to be involved in our consultations or provide feedback, contact Grace Daley, BCNA’s Equity and Diversity Officer, at gdaley@bcna.org.au or on 1800 500 258.
