Our Pink Bun Campaign ends close of business tomorrow! Every Fun Bun 6 Pack from Bakers Delight goes straight to strengthening BCNA's impact, including right here in our wonderful Online Network.
This year, one of the inspiring faces that reminds us why we are here is Emily.
🫶 A Full-Circle Moment of Courage: Emily’s Story
Growing up in Melbourne, Emily was like many young Australians. As a teenager, she worked at Bakers Delight, selling the now-iconic pink buns each year to raise funds for breast cancer support. Back then, the cause felt meaningful, but distant. It was something she supported for others, never imagining it would one day become part of her own life story.
Everything changed in her late twenties.
At just 27, Emily discovered a lump in her breast. Like many young women, she initially brushed it off, assuming it couldn’t be anything serious because of her age. But the lump didn’t go away. Months later, she was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer, launching her into an intense journey of treatment that would include chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, and long, exhausting days of recovery.
After months of treatment, there was hope. She began to rebuild, believing she might be past the hardest chapter. But just six months later, devastating news arrived, the cancer had returned and spread. It was now metastatic - treatable, but incurable.
That moment could have defined everything. Instead, Emily chose to keep showing up, becoming the face of the campaign she once helped behind-the-scenes. At just 31 years old, Emily's life looks very different from what she once imagined, but her story is one of resilience, purpose, and powerful full-circle moments.
Help us support Emily and other's like yourselves by reminding your family & friends to grab their Pink Buns from their local Baker's Delight today! Read more about the Pink Bun Campaign at https://www.bcna.org.au/about-us/our-partners/bakers-delight-foundation-partner/Pink-Bun-campaign
