NEW Private Group - Triple Positive Breast Cancer (TPBC)
Hello members, If you have been diagnosed with 'Triple Positive Breast Cancer' (TPBC) or supporting someone with this breast cancer type, you may have asked whether we have a private group available for people. Currently we do not have a dedicated group, however there are several members who would like to see a specific group and we want to create the conversation: What is TPBC? TPBC is breast cancer that has higher-than-typical levels of estrogen receptors, progesterone receptors, and HER2 protein (human epidermal growth factor receptor 2). Hormone receptor and HER2 status are determined during breast cancer diagnosis. You can read more about the role of hormones and HER2 via our website Hormone receptor-positive early breast cancer Please provide feedback as to whether you feel you or someone diagnosed with TPBC would benefit from having access to an Online Network private group (Please leave your comment in this discussion thread)274Views1like11CommentsTriple positive..but invisible on screening tests
Just diagnosed in September after finally pushing my GP for an answer on what this lump actually was that was getting bigger in left breast. Negative results on screening mammograms and ultrasound. Surgeon wasn't concerned but did a biopsy - Triple positive. Then did a lumpectomy 4wks later but it was bigger than he thought and did not result in clear margins and one lymph node affected.. Soooo... am now on day 2 post 1st chemo treatment and, so far, so good. I'm taking preventative medications recommended by oncologist to avoid the nausea, bone pain, mouth tenderness that seem to be common... but my gut is churning a bit.. I am in a regional centre and have decided to have my mastectomy in Melbourne as they can also do a reconstruction at the same time. Whirlwind and roller coaster and waves are the emotional analogies I seem to use. It's reassuring to know that many, many others have experienced this stuff and got through it in their own ways. Always keen for tips and tricks :)201Views0likes4CommentsThe Breast - scientific papers on all types of BC & conditions .... a great resource

Hi, Just wondering if anyone out there is triple positive. I'm triple positive and HER2 positive. I was diagnosed in January, have had surgery now currently doing chemo. I have read various articles on triple positive being an aggressive cancer and with HER2 Positive a high reoccurrence rate. My pathology reports state ER positive 90% which seems quite high and grade 3 Stage 1. When I ask my oncologist about prognosis and reoccurance rate she tends to brush it off. Trying not to be anxious with this information BUT......222Views0likes10Comments
