Graphic photo - 2nd day after mastectomy - is this normal?
Hi everyone, I was hoping to get some advice. I had a single skin/nipple sparing mastectomy 2 days ago (16th April), with an expander. I’ve just had a look and it looks terrible. I don’t mind the bruising, but I’m concerned about how pink/red & warm the skin is getting. The skin is also becoming more and more numb. & the nipple is stinging. I’ve attached some pictures. The nurse said it’s fine but I haven’t seen a specialist yet. She also said pain is good and I should try not to have another painkiller - is that true? Should I request to speak to my surgeon? Im pretty upset about how off centre the nipple is and how unnatural the shape is. Does anyone know why it looks so wrinkled & empty at the outer bottom part? Can this be fixed/does it get better with time? Sorry if I have rambled a little bit - the pain meds are making me a bit hazy. I’d really appreciate any advice x Photos removed at members request.
Size of Implants verses expanders.
Hi BCNA friends, I was wondering if anyone has an idea of how the sizes of expanders swap out for implants? I have been trying to decide whether I need to have one last fill or not. Do implants end up being the same size as the expander after surgery? I have read online where many have said that implants are usually smaller. I asked the breast nurse who has been doing my fills and she seems to think that they will be the same. Anyone had any experience with this? Thanks x
Chemo/expanders
hi there, just a quick one for you lovely ladies. I have just had my first AC treatment on Friday. I had the injection the following day to help with my white blood cells and they warned me that this could cause bone pain... which it has lol but my main concern is that it I feel as though my expander ( which was done 2nd April and had began to settle) has really began to hurt and become uncomfortable again.... did anyone else experience this as a side effect to chemo? thanks for reading xx

Happening so quickly
Hi,im new to all of this,everything has just been a whirlwind,in the space of 3 month,found a lump,had tests which confirmed cancer,had right breast mastectomy and fitted with expander Thursday 19/7 home Sat 21/7 with drains.drains look clogged up to me but community nurse seemed to think they are fine and I've developed a weird sunken space in my non boob in the last few hours..sorry for the long post just a little worried,has anyone had the same experience??
