Suspicious Bone Lesions
After having diep flap reconstruction in Feb 2019 my plastic surgeon sent me for an abdominal CT scan to check a few things out. This appointment was in August 2020. Had the scan. The report also sent to my GP (who is wonderful). The last line on the report commented on suspicious areas on my spine. He then contacted the oncology department at Monash. No one could explain. Got sent for a Bone Scan which showed nothing. This was followed by a PET scan. End result is blood tests are all fine, no lymph nodes affected, other organs fine, no breast area concerns BUT have multiple tiny lesions scattered on my bones - shoulder, spine, pelvis. After the oncologist had consultations with other colleagues I have been given no answers. I am now waiting for an appointment for a bone biopsy by the lesions are so small it will be difficult. Waiting, waiting, waiting for that appointment. Cant say I am optimistic. By the way, still have not heard from the plastic surgeon.Oncology day
Just home after visiting my oncologist. Previously I had scans and a biopsy on a lump I found in my neck. My oncologist said I dont have any good news which I wasn't really expecting. Apparently the lump was in my lymph gland and is the same type of cancer as my breast cancer. So I'm changing chemo again. This time it will be IV Caelyx once every 4 weeks . Have to keep an eye on the lump, that it doesn't get any bigger or I may have to have radiation therapy to shrink it. I will also loose my hair again, which will be the 4th time, but that doesn't worry me any more. One good thing that she agreed with, was that I can go and see my daughter and her family in Tassie before Christmas. Can't wait for the weather to warm up a bit more down there and I will be off.Safety and frequency of bone scans
Hi ladies At my treatment last monday my onc said she wanted another bone scan. I agreed reluctantly as I only had one on the 9th of november last year. I guess with me skipping and changing my drugs due to my skin issues as you know she may want to check things are stable . However ..... I am very concerned about radiation exposure so soon after the last one. Not to mention the stress they cannot find my veins so its an ultrasound and lots of trouble . Also she wants another ct scan oh woe...... should I be so worried Im thinking of declining . The forms you sign say it all. Eek one word....RUN!!!!! Hehe
