Exercise after mastectomy
Hi all, I am almost 7 months after SMX. I have been diligent with rehab exercises, and I approached exercise very gently. After 6 months I was able to return to the rock-climbing level I was once (21 grade at the gym). and I can also run for 5 km (although not at a previous pace), and lift weights. with perseverance and discipline, we can get back to our routines. I do have another surgery coming up (tissue expander expand), as I decided not to have an implant. So I will likely start from 0 again, and again baby steps...but I least I know that the rehab journey works. Good vibes to everyone!17Views3likes2CommentsRock climbing, strength training and running after lumpectomy
Hi everyone. I'm an active 41 yo (My favourite activities are climbing, sailing and running). I had a lumpectomy 3 weeks ago. The size of the tissue removed was 6x4 cm. I'm feeling great with the recovery, and I will most likely start radiotherapy soon. I was wondering how was your experience with recovery and getting back to exercise. I'm like rock climbing, and I am thinking to take another 3 weeks off training, but I also have been reading that I could exercise the lower part of my body. I have been walking almost daily. How has everyones experience has been with lumpectomy and returning to fitness?122Views2likes3Comments
