Upfront About Breast Cancer PODCAST 'Advance Care Planning - Taking Control of Your Future'
Hi everyone, Please find below information on BCNA's latest Upfront About Breast Cancer Podcase E37: Living with metastatic breast cancer often means you need to make decisions about your treatment and care. As well as working with your treating team to work out decisions surrounding your current care, it’s also good to think ahead and talk about the care you may want in the future, if you are unable to communicate your preferences for care yourself. In this episode we’re joined by Dr Sonia Fullerton. Sonia is a consultant in palliative medicine who assists in patient centred decision-making and advance care plans. We’ll hear about who should consider developing an advanced care plan, what the process involves and who can assist you, where to get the advice you need and the questions you should ask. Hi everyone Last night I listened to our latest podcast from Upfront about breast cancer series. I wanted to post in here in case you had missed our promotions. This edition focuses on fatigue and includes Rina, who is living with metastatic breast cancer. I think Rina and the other guests provide some really helpful and practical information. It may even be very helpful for your support team. A link to the podcast is here: https://www.bcna.org.au/understanding-breast-cancer/resources/podcasts/episode-34-managing-fatigue/ I hope you are all looking after yourselves Cheers KirstenPodcasts
Today, there is an article in my local paper about the Cancer Council podcasts called "The Thing About Advanced Cancer". Apparently they were launched this week. There are 10 episodes which look at what it means to have advanced cancer. Topics include treatments, hope, life and loss. They are hosted by broadcaster Julie McCrossin who had cancer. The first two are now available. The rest of the episodes will be released over the coming weeks. They are not breast cancer specific.
