Expander to implant surgery
Hi, I’m looking for feedback on how long everyone had to wait to have their second surgery to replace the tissue expander with an implant. I’m being told that I’m now on a waitlist for ‘elective surgery’ that could take 12 months. Is this normal? I feel like I’m living in limbo and can’t even begin to recover or move forward until the second surgery takes place. I’m in NSW. This is my second breast cancer after my lumpectomy and radiation in 2018. Both times DCIS
Recon with expanders wk 7
Hi warriors just wanted to ask if anyone had pains post 6 wk mark with expanders? I’m at wk 7 now and fully expanded and for the past 4-5 days have been experiencing dull but almost constant pain under my R boob (foob) not sure if I’ve been over doing it with my stretches or lifting heavy stuff and maybe pulled something. It’s in one spot and doesn’t move. No changes in the look of the breast. Having to take Panadol and ibuprofen a couple times each a day. Any ideas or advice welcome. I don’t see my PS for a couple weeks. x
Air Expanders and plane travel
Hi there, I have had a mastectomy 4 weeks ago and I have an air expander. I have not expanded it at all as i still am having issues with the nipple. We have a holiday planned in 6 weeks and I want to know of any one has had an experience of flying with an air expander. i have heard that it can be quite painful so i am a little worried of what to expect. Thanks
