Cancer is the biggest c#%t ever!
It’s been 9 months since my lumpectomy, 6 months since radiation and think I’ve found another lump 😔 I’ve been having pains in my breast over the last couple of weeks which only really started since getting back in to the gym and exercise (a month ago) GP put it down to muscle strain and I thought so too....but today I started to feel around and it’s firm on another side of my breast to the surgery and I felt a lump in a different area to the first one. I’m freaking out. How I’ll stay sane until I get the proper checks done...I don’t know I honestly wish it would just f%#* off301Views1like7CommentsSeeking stories about exercise 6+weeks after double mastectomy
Hi there, I'm 34 and had a double mastectomy/tissue expander reconstruction 6 weeks ago and successful re-excision 2 weeks ago (legion was super close to skin, so pathologist wanted to take some skin to be 100% sure of excellent margin). Anyway, I asked about exercise and I have been given Surgeon/Breast Care Nurse's orders to only walk for the near future (at least another month). I'm a bit of a nerd and will definitely follow the Doctor's orders, but I am also very curious about what other ladies might have done exercise-wise in the months following mastectomy. Prior to diagnosis I was a cycle commuter, rock climber and lap swimmer, so this "only walking" business is a bit hard to handle! I have had a few issues in recovery with possible small seroma/possible infection at one point, that's settled now, but in terms of pain and other possible aches I've read about, so far so good. Fortunately I live near a river in Sydney, and there is bushland nearby, so I will be able to get into walking. Anyway, I'm really curious to hear your stories! Warm wishes, Jen :)71Views0likes8Comments2.5 weeks post Lumpectomy and SNB
Hi just wondering if anyone can help me in regards to feeling quite sore still from the lumpectomy and there are 3 quite thick fibres/tendons running from my SNB scar down towards my nipple that really hurt. I know I may have been rather optimistic but everyone seemed to think having a lumpectomy I would be back running and biking etc within a week, whereas I would be in so much pain if I ran with my boob the way it is now. I am normally a 12DD and have lost the bottom part of my boob by about 3.5cm , I have always worn very supportive bras so I have been wearing them. There is no redness or infection , still some bruising and blue dye. My inner arm is doing the weird chafe sort of feeling and a bit of pins and needles in hand. I have been walking on the beach most days but is anyone similar and remembers how long it took to get back to running and riding or swimming? Or have the weird things running down boob?1View0likes14CommentsDetermined to win
Hi ladies, This is my first blog.....ever!!! Still not sure what a blog really is so forgive me if I get it wrong :) I was wondering if anyone could help me with some stretches or exercises for a frozen shoulder which is progressively getting worse. I had a double mastectomy with 9 nodes taken from my right side and the sentinel node from the left. I have developed a nasty case of lymphoedema in my right arm which also happens to be the side that my shoulder is freezing on. My partner and I love to do rock n roll dancing, and this is now starting to affect my ability to do all the moves, so its time to kick its butt and fix this little hurdle. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Cheers all x2Views0likes10CommentsArm Exercise after BC and Reconstruction
Hi to all and well wishes to you all this my first blog - i have got through it diagnosis thru to bi lateral mastectomy and reconstruction. I am on Tamoxifin and have healed. Now I have been told just gentle arm exercises no weights no swimming no anything that may cause the inplant to move out under my arms just cardio and this is forever! Just cardio exercise. I would love to hear from gorgeous ladies who having gone through the dark tunnel have had the under the muscle breast inplants what do you do for upperbody workouts and bat wing arms to be truthfull. I have no strength due to all the Ops etc and immobility but am raring to go now and want to know what I CAN DO going forward. Is Pilates safe for instance.? I see Dragon boat ladies and I know they must all have a story either their own or that of a friend but they are rowing ? I welcome any thoughts or experiences lovely ladies x Coldcapper1View0likes8Comments
