Here's to all the test's we have to have - a wee jingle I made up - cause well we have to find some
So as some of you may know I'm still going through my second round of breast cancer, and still under going all these tests that my medical have put me though, today I chose to go through my I-Med radiology app to look over how many different producers I've been booked for, and gone through, and I came up with this wee jingle I could turn this into a new version of a Christmas song : you know the one “On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me “ Well in here goes this wee tune "On my second cancer diagnosis my medical team gave to me " 4 cannula’s into the veins for all the contrast dies 3 breast ultrasounds 3 biopsy ( one double, one triple, then a single ) 3 mammograms 2 MRI’s 1 PET Scan 1 MRI guided biopsy 1 genetic test for family history And still no surgery Now tell me you just didn’t sing that tune in your head hopefully that put a smile on your dial , as we try to stay positive and support one another this October, breast cancer awareness month Happy Saturday every one hopefully my medical team will soon know when they want to do the surgery ???132Views0likes6CommentsOngoing Pain
Hi! I was diagnosed with early breast cancer 11years ago, and went onto have a lumpectomy, radiation therapy, and hormone therapy. I recently had my yearly scans, and all came back okay. YAY! I still get daily pain in the affected breast where the cancer was, is this a situation that others get, is it a common long term side effect? I don't see my oncologist any more, but maybe I should arrange a check in, or at least speak with my GP? Wondering what others experience. Hugs to all😀341Views0likes5CommentsSore breasts post treatments (lumpectomy)
Hi guys had my first year mammogram February 2nd 2021 all clear thankfully Apparently I have skin thickening post radiation and quite a bit of scaring etc but I was wondering does anyone still have tenderness in their Breast 9 months post surgery my dog jumped on me the other day and landed hard on my operated breast which really hurt will they ever feel normal again? or is this part of the new normal I also find if I stop stretching my arm for a few days my armpit feels tight again372Views1like26Commentsunderarm sore and just generally feeling blah
Hi ladies, just after abit of advice - had my 3rd AC last Thursday, last couple of days i have felt really tired and i know this is normal as i have been usually tired for the first 5-6 days after treatment but this feels different and i just feel all abit depressed with it and maybe it has hit home that i am actually going through this, so again feeling all emotions which i know is not helping. Also the last 24 hours i have had pain in my breast like stinging and burning and my underarm is sore - even when lifting it feels painful underneath, is this normal? i know they say when tumour is shrinking it can be painful but i have been told when i had my scans that there were no signs it was in my Lymphnodes so wondering if this is not the case as i have pain - all abit overwhelmed, i have me Onc appt next Wednesday so will bring this up and try not to stress in the meantime. x71Views0likes4CommentsPost DCIS pain in side of breast
I’m 5 months post op and 3 months post radiotherapy and lately have noticed thickening underneath scar tissue but stabbing pain in left side of left breast near scar tissue . Where had good movement post surgery now throbbing at night and have my ‘Zonta ‘ pillow again for support. Any ideas for relief , especially at night? Just annoying as packing house for move interstate!51Views0likes1CommentAnyone experiencing Nerve Pain post surgery/radio
Hello everyone, First time poster. Diagnosed in Feb 20 early stage cancer. Feel so fortunate discovered early and good prognosis. Described as a ‘tiny’ cancer by breast surgeon (.5 mm, e+ p+ herc-) Just so relieved and grateful to be settling down after the rollercoaster that starts at diagnosis. But a hiccup has occurred post radio (no chemo). Now three weeks since finishing radio and 9 weeks since surgery. Skin recovery excellent. I am now experiencing what I can only describe as a stinging ache in breast especially around nipple. Sort of burning feeling but different from the radio burn feeling. Pin prick type pain, especially from nipple to underarm, but really whole breast aches and feels tight and ‘stingy’. No pain at night in fact lying flat at night no pain. Starts when I move around and by late avo intense. I did have a reduction both breasts at same time of lumpectomy as I am a small person with large breasts. Reconstruction was done at same time as well. Sentinel node work (all clear) also. So considerable surgery. Please tell me others have had this feeling post radio and it is not permanent nerve pain. Post surgery I did have severe nerve pain in both breasts but it settled before radio started. Is it still early days? Goodness could this be permanent? I have excellent arm movement. Reassurance or like experience greatly accepted.81Views0likes4CommentsNew pain - other breast - hypochondriac?
Do we all turn into hypochondriacs with every new pain? Or is it just me? :( So last Thurs my right breast (my left was treated) suddenly became really itchy in 1 spot and then I got sharp stabbing pains in that 1 spot, lasted a few hours on and off. Intermittent stabby pains on fri morning so sent a msg to my BCN (this is a new 1 ive never met) and she phoned me late Fri afternoon and said to monitor for 2 wks but she would mention it to surgeon to see if my imaging (due oct) should be brought forward. Saturday no pains, Sun a few and this morning a few, all stabby, all in exact same spot. I know most literature says cancer isn't painful but I'm sure quite a few of us can assure them that it is! Last time I had bruise like pain for 5 days then a lump and a wk later a huge node. Am I being silly to not want to wait 2wks like she said? Am I over reacting? Will it always be like this, thinking the worst at every twinge? Sorry for long boring post xx583Views0likes23Commentssudden pain
had a lumpectomy last november, finished chemo - though still having 3 weekly Herceptin - finished radiotherapy 6 weeks ago and have been on Arimidex for a month. No problems and suddenly quite a bit of pain as the site of the lumpectomy. Is this normal? Should I call oncologist? Doesn't hurt as I move around and do stuff - but extremely sensitve to touch.211Views0likes3Comments
