Any chance on ketting us know when inboxes will be fixed? It is not just the order that is terrible and out of whack but every single message ever deleted is in the inbox - 5 to 6 months on... Also I am finding that when I click on 'here' in those messages inctead of being taken to the said post / thread I receive an error message. I get U may be aware of these issues but pls give us a bit of info on where U R at in terms of addressing them as site as is now especially with the message problem / inbox being unusable makes it impossible for one to participate at all5Views0likes0CommentsRe: First chemo TCH
No vomiting here but feeling like I am.running a fever initial 3 to 5 days post treatment continued throughout treatment. I.would.say they did not escort you through the ER because there was no fever. Should you present with temp close to 38.or 38 trust me - you will be ushered in straight away... Talk to you Oncology team - call them today if you are vomiting wven though taking the meds correctly. It could be due to reducing steroids or going off them (if that has happened already) and they may need to extend them or change your anti nausea meds. Make sure you call them as if you are vomiting drugs get expelled so you are not getting the benefit of taking them and nausea will continue. Movicol twice daily is a must and if not helping you tell the oncology team to add to it something else... Soups will help as will avoiding too many carbs those initual few days. Dietitan told me soups with a lot of meat and veg and no noodles or potatoes added... Followed it from the 2nd Session and itnworked and I was.on steroids for 6 days each time so had to have a full on gut fruendly solution ?? I am managing radioin so far This is just day 6 of what will be 32 tratmwnts so must say not looking forward to the whole course as Ibstarted getting reactions I was told not to expect for many weeks on day 3 so looks like my body has again decided to be 'prescious' about having stuff done to it. But it has to be done so onwarfs and upwards ?? I hope you are now oast the worst of the initial sideeffects and that tummy is cooperating a bit better. Hugs Jel.3Views0likes0CommentsRe: Headache
I personally had no infections as such on AC but had to deal with a massove candida / trush.all.over my body both internally and externally that persisted for 5 weeks post chemo... I wore a face mask every time I went out as did hubby when on public transport or shops and that helped. Hubby also.had a flu shot to make sure he was less likely to catch any bugs... I was.on AC Chemo and by the end of 1st week of my 1st chemo my scal was driving me insane. It was itchy and scaly and any touch of the hair caused immense pain. Falling asleep was not possible as hair against the pillow meant excrutiating pain. I had my head shaved and can honestly say it was the best thing ever. Pain stopped and never came back. No itch at all... I then bough an electric razor and made sure to shave my head completely couple of days post each round and it worked like a charm... I was on AC chemo so completely different but burping like crazy initial.24hours was one thing I too suffered... I found grapefruit helped as did lemon squeezed in cold water.... Do not fear Neulasta... I know some people experience pain with it but not all. I had absolutely no bone pain with it at all so hang in there and do not assume the worst as chance is you get no pain. I had no issues with food during Chemo but did find myself losing appetite in 2012 post major surgery and getting myself to eat again was a nightmare... I never though losing appetite was a real thing until it did happen to me and to this day remeber trying to eat what smelled.good and I wnated to eat it but could not physically force myself to actually swallow a moutfull. I would chew and chew but the throat refused to cooperate and allow me to swallow and would spit it out as any attempt to swallow resulted in my chokeing :( After losong 8 kg in under a week because I could not eat I was facing being fed through a tube and had to do someting about it so I started by making chicken soup (no noodles) and would drink small amounts of clear broth. That helped get some nutrition into my body. Also juicing fresh fruit and veg helped. I had no desire for it but just like with soups I found it easier to get my body to accept it. Next step was making whatever I knew was my favourite food prior to the surgery that I would enjoy the aroma off. I started by taking a small bite only - just a single teaspoon which I would still divide into several bites and somehow that worked for me and body would accept tiny bits of food. Faced with a small.place or smal pieces I could not swallow but faced with a single tiny teaspoon of food would get the body to cooperate... I would also just steam or boil basic veg and would also just have a single teaspoonfull. I would ten try another bit in an hour and so on... Took about 2 days of that approach for my body to start to cooperate and by day 3 I found that I could eat very small meals in a single sitting. You just need to find what works for you - what your favourite foods are and start slowly without expecting too much. Best of luck Jel.0Views0likes0Comments
