Re: Hit the wall
Hi ladies I bounced back today thank you. I have a band of radiation like a boob tube from under my boob to above that wraps around to part of my back so something is working. My husband is now home to help me with xmas but thank you all a much better day. I just hope it was not a taste of what is to come but like everyone one day at a time. I will adjust my sails @iserbrown ha ha4Views0likes0CommentsRe: Hit the wall
Hi @Zoffiel yeah if it keeps up I shall. I now have 4 days off from treatment so I get a chance to have a break. The oncologist said the pub hols will work to my advantage she hoped. Maybe it was just my thumping headache too. Thanks so much for your concern. Jill21Views0likes0CommentsHit the wall
Hello ladies Well bang I have hit the wall. I had surgery about a month ago and am up to day 7 radiation today. I haven't been sleeping but did last night. I woke up this morning like I was hungover or getting a virus. Didnt even have the energy to stand up to blow dry my hair. Boy oh boy hope this passes quickly. Took some panadol for a headache but oh my god this has knocked the wind out of my sails. I am sure by tomorrow my energy levels will have returned. I can only hope. On the bright side my boob is not doing too bad all things considered bit coloured and bit sore now 4 days off. All have a merry xmas244Views0likes11CommentsRe: New member to the B.C Club
Hi @Anne65 I am glad you came out a little relieved. This was the stage I was at one month ago. I will give you a giggle or just call silly. I had my op and went home bound up in tubing. At first i thought when I had a peep nothing much has changed bit of a 3cm scar but nice and rounded. I forgot how swollen it would be. Now a couple of weeks past it looks a bit caved in and flat on the side. It doesn't matter as I always wear a padded bra and noone sees it anyway but here I was thinking ooh still round and shapely. I have a bit of a giggle still thinking if people only knew how silly I was. I embrace what I have now no different to me. I still think I have got off lightly compared to alot of other women who have been through so much more. Good luck for Thursday. Rest up and be kind to yourself afterwards. xxxx Jill18Views1like0CommentsRe: New member to the B.C Club
Hi @Anne65 and @Sister. I too have dcis no lymph node involvement. I actually went in being told it was benign so thought that was the end ah nope only to find out it was cancer and went in and had breast conservative surgery, had the tumor (in fact two as I found out when the pathology came back) and have now started radiation (today is day 3). No chemo needed as it was not invasive and after radiation will go on hormone therapy (letrozole) as I am menopausal. I too have found it a bit much my head in a fog for awhile. Hubby came to surgeons and oncology appointments as he could ask his own questions. So far no side effects. My advice is take one appointment at a time deep breath and go forward from each appointment with each bit of information you obtain. The big "c" word is frightening and daunting. Do the best you can and dont be hard on yourself. Good luck keep us posted and I will too xxx Jill8Views1like0CommentsRe: Benign then malignant
Thanks @jennyss for your advice. I have just been for radiation and the nurse said very unusual to be hot so quick but if a face washer worked great. She said things could have been stirred up and by the 3rd treatment hopefully should settle down until nearer the end. Hope so. She gave me QV wash, QV moisturizer three times a day and intense cream for night. Thanks again.19Views0likes0CommentsRe: Benign then malignant
Thank you ladies. I just thought the heat would slowly build not bam after the first session. Yes cant wait to see the nurse tomorrow and will lay off the moo goo and use the qv if that's what she wants. @Zoffiel I had a chuckle I bought pork crackling today actually. You ladies are so funny it makes me feel more normal. It will be interesting to see what happens to my little booby (.) as the days go on. I shall keep you lovely ladies posted.6Views0likes0Comments
