Re: Lymphoedema and recurrence fears
primek said: I've got a sleeve through lymphedivas. It it very light. Easy to put on and has the separate hand piece. I am lucky enough not to need it daily at this time. Just thought I would share. https://www.lymphedivas.com/en/shop Hi Primek, How do you find the sleeves? My physio said not to get them as they don't compress very well. She has ordered a custom made sleeve from Varisan. I like the Lymphedivas but don't want to spend that money on ones that don't work. I need daily compression but don't need to wear at night.8Views0likes0CommentsRe: Tamoxifen causing weight loss
Thanks Primek... I've never been one to lose this much. I have tried to change my diet to be healthier and I'm aware that it has probably contributed. I don't drink alcohol but I do drink a lot of coke zero. Rarely nauseated and still not sure if my appetite has decreased... I'm eating less because I've cut out most of the snacking I used to do. I had appointments at the hospital yesterday so I spoke to some of the staff there... The breast care nurses think it's my body resettling after chemo and have asked the Physiotherapist (who is currently seeing me every few days) to keep an eye on me. They think that as long as I don't have other pains then I am probably fine but should speak to the Oncologist if I go past my pre-chemo weight. The Physiotherapist mentioned that she has had 1 other patient with the same issue who had loads of tests done but didn't find the cause that she knows of. She doesn't know what ended up happening with that patient once the physio stopped. I'm expecting a call today from somebody in the oncology department to discuss it further. I'm hoping we find the lips that Zoffiel mentioned :smiley:6Views0likes0CommentsTamoxifen causing weight loss
Within about 2 weeks of starting Tamoxifen, I noticed that I was losing weight quite quickly. Out of interest, I have been weighing myself every day since noticing this. Most days I lose 500g, occasionally it varies a little with the most lost in one day being 1.5kg. On the flip side, if I have a day of eating badly, I put it on just as quickly (2kg in one day!). Overall, I've lost 6kg since Feb 1st. While I have been trying to eat better, it is a lot of weight to be consistently losing. As I'm at least 30kg overweight, I'm not worried about it for the moment... quite liking this side effect. Has anyone experienced the same? I see a lot of comments about putting on weight or having trouble losing weight but nothing about this kind of loss.207Views0likes7CommentsPost-mastectomy clothing suggestions
Hi, I've been trying to find clothes that are designed with post-op ladies in mind. All I get from Google is ways to hide that I've had surgery which isn't what I'm looking for. I've had a bilateral mastectomy and, for the moment, I don't plan on getting reconstruction or wearing prosthetics. I'm enjoying not having breasts and not having to wear bras. It's been a big difference for me as I've had large breasts since they first arrived. Most clothes that I find (that I like) often have a deep v-neck or require boobs to have the piece sit nicely. It's been suggested to me that I try men's clothes but they don't take hips into account and really aren't my style. I'd love to find a label that caters for women who don't have breasts but I'm not finding anything at the moment so I was hoping that someone on here may be able to point a few options out. Thanks in advance, Kerry183Views0likes4Comments
