Post-mastectomy clothing suggestions

Hi,

I've been trying to find clothes that are designed with post-op ladies in mind. All I get from Google is ways to hide that I've had surgery which isn't what I'm looking for.

I've had a bilateral mastectomy and, for the moment, I don't plan on getting reconstruction or wearing prosthetics. I'm enjoying not having breasts and not having to wear bras. It's been a big difference for me as I've had large breasts since they first arrived. Most clothes that I find (that I like) often have a deep v-neck or require boobs to have the piece sit nicely. It's been suggested to me that I try men's clothes but they don't take hips into account and really aren't my style.

I'd love to find a label that caters for women who don't have breasts but I'm not finding anything at the moment so I was hoping that someone on here may be able to point a few options out.

Thanks in advance,

Kerry
  • Thanks Cath. The blog looks really interesting, I hope she keeps updating.
  • Hi briseis, I was reading about a young lady who has had bilateral mastectomy and was also finding it hard to find suitable clothing. She has started her own website called https://leavemebreastless.com  and styles it as fashion for breast cancer fighters and survivors. Hope this helps. Xx Cath
