To remove or not to remove..... that is the question
Hi all, I am 2 years post diagnosis. Left Mastectomy, Chemo, Radiation, Oophorectomy and taking Exemestane. I looking for advice from anyone who decided after treatment was finished instead of a reconstruction have the other breast removed for "evenness". I believe that the reconstructive surgery would be a pretty long operation as I don't have enough skin to simply slip a implant in. I just think it would be simpler to remove the other breast but any advice on either the pros or cons of this option would be greatly appreciated.683Views0likes20CommentsRadiation Burns - Wet or Dry?
Hello .... I am looking for some advice regarding my radiation burns. I am 6 days post radiation (25 doses) and the skin in centre of my chest has broken down and is weeping. (Also VERY painful) I was given the zinc and castor oil cream and some silicone dressings from the radiation nurses but I am not sure if now that it’s broken down and weeping I should be letting it “breathe” or keep it covered? Hi @Mjheke Welcome to Canberra. I have lived in Canberra almost all my life and LOVE it. I also live in Garran so if you would like to meet up and have a coffee I would love to introduce you to some of my favourite things to do in Canberra. I have had mastectomy, chemo and finished radiation on Friday!! Living in Garran I was able to walk over to all my treatments/appointments at either National Capital Private Hospital or The Canberra Hospital (Public) which was very convenient.67Views4likes0Comments
