Tamoxifen-hormonal hair loss, ovarian cysts?
Hi lovely ladies! Happy New Year to you all! It's been a while. I've had 2 x wide local excision (Jan 2017), radiotherapy (April 2017) for Invasive lobular carcinoma. I am now on Tamoxifen (started June 2017) My question is, has anyone suffered with thinning hair, especially above temple areas? I believe it hormonal related. Has anyone used products such as regain for women and has it worked? Also, lower abdo pain followed by pelvic ultrasound showed several ovarian cysts. Anyone else had this happen. Im now off to see a gynecologist :( Also, how long does the effected breast stay sore? Mine is still painful to touch, seat belt irritates (I use cushion). It is lumpy as well. Ultrasound showed enlarged lymph nodes, My surgeon says this is normal? I am due for more tests end of January. Sorry for all the questions, would just be great to hear from any other with similar issues. BC just seems to be the gift that keeps on giving! :# haha... Thanks <3156Views0likes7CommentsRe: Hi
Hi Cowgirl! I'm from Sandy Creek SA, so we are neighbors! I have been having all my appointments & treatment at LMHS which has been great. About a 40 min drive. Hope you are doing ok. I'm getting there! Still pretty crappy tho hey? Well wishing you and all my fellow SA BC 'sisters' a VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS & may 2018 be awesome  XXX <35Views1like0CommentsRe: 14/9/17 Lisa50's Birthday Today!!!!!
Hey you guys!! Thank you soo much!! <3 ...I still read online but haven't posted for a while. I love this place where we can chat freely. The women going through this BC stuff are absolute legends!! My update - I'm going ok, I feel really well but still not clear :/ My MRI etc showed a couple of 'spots' on the good breast now...grr. They couldn't biopsy it under ultrasound so going back again in a few weeks for repeat MRI and another shot at it! Oh the joy. I have been on Tamoxifen now for over 3 months with minimal side effect which is good! Also the affected breast (following 2 x wide local excisions/rads, earlier this year) has lately become quite tender more lumpy & warmer than other. Don't like it...appointment in 2 weeks to check that. And so it goes on & on...The waiting of course, as you all know is the WORSE! Anyway, its my birthday so the good news is I'm having dinner with my beautiful family AND I am going to be Grandma in 3 weeks...SO EXCITING!! :D Will keep you posted. You girls rock XXX3Views0likes0CommentsRe: PET Scan costs?
That's right auOrei, it is easy for others to comment when they aren't the ones going through it! My GP said it was over kill as well. Did the PET scan reveal anything different than other tests? I am still thinking of going ahead even if I have to pay, just for my own piece of mind. Radiation....what it might give you cancer? lol ;) Thank you x27Views0likes0Comments
