Re: 6/9/18 Cynth6's Birthday today!!!!
Aw thank you so much ladies. What a beautiful surprise to see this alert in my emails this morning. @mum2jj everything is going well since last chemo 1 year ago. I’m working full time, back to studying and finally getting back on track with my fitness to lose the chemo weight. It’s hard to get motivated but I’ve got a personal trainer to help me. How have you been ?4Views0likes0CommentsRe: Are you a breast cancer survivor who happens to be childless?
I was diagnosed last year when I was 30. I’m childless and single. However I do want children. I just got my periods back last week after chemo. It took about 7 months for them to return and although I was told they may not return, I was hopeful. Now I’m hopeful that one day I will meet someone to have kids with14Views7likes0CommentsRe: AC Chemo
Ah the dreadful AC. But that was the good stuff that helped my tumour shrink very fast. After my third round of AC, I literally cried to my oncologist and said I’d had enough and I won’t be doing the 4th one. It of course she talked me out of it and I did it and never looked back. Just think it’s the last one of the horrible “red devil”. I personally found I got so anxious about the 4th one but I found it to be the best one out of the 4. I almost think my body got used to it and just coped better 4th time round. Sending you positive vibes. Just remember it’ll be over soon enough and the next school holidays you’ll be able to have the energy to spend quality time with your kids : )6Views1like0CommentsWaiting for periods to return after chemo
Hello, i am now 7 months post chemo and am 31 yrs old and there is no sign of my periods returning. My oncologist did say that my chances of them returning as I am under 40 are higher but they could take up to a year or even longer for them to return. A few months back I didn’t care as I was almost sure that I didn’t want children but now I do want children one day and I would hate to think my periods are never returning ! is anyone else in a similiar situation as me ? also, does me technically being in “menopause” mean I can’t get pregnant if I have unprotected sex?88Views0likes5CommentsRe: Triple Negative diagnosis
Hi @Annaspanna sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I am now 6 months post chemo and I am cancer free. I was also a triple negative girl with a lesion about 3.5cm found in April 2017. I did chemo first and then surgery. The good thing about us triple neg ladies is that usually we respond really well to chemo. Of course in my case I didn’t respond well to it and I know that’s not always the case for everyone unfortunately. You’re still in the very early stages of diagnosis and this is the hardest part as you begin to process it. I hope you have a lot of support around you and try to stay positive (I know that sounds ridiculous) as there are alot of treatment options and research into Breast cancer. Wishing you all the best with what comes. Xo26Views2likes0CommentsTemporary hair loss but not forever alopecia
Hi Ladies, I’ve just caught up with tonight’s Married at First Sight episode. There is a lady on there called Gabrielle who just had tell her “husband” that her beautiful hair that he likes is actually a wig as she has alopecia. My heart sank when she told him the truth as as she didn’t know how he would react. As a single 31 yr old post chemo I find it so hard to tell the guy I’m talking to about my wig that hides my short pixie hair. But you know what we can be grateful for ?? That we don’t have permanent hair loss. Our hair grows back, although sure it seems like it takes forever but it does grows back. But unfortunately women like Gabrielle have to live with a wig forever to hide their completely bald heads. Moral of the story, yeah it’s been a hard road for us women and men who have been through chemo and the horrible side effect of hair loss, but remember it’s only temporary and there are people far less fortunate than us. Sending positive vibes to everyone going through different stages in this cancer battle. Cynthia xo426Views2likes16Comments
