You might be facing a breast cancer diagnosis yourself, supporting someone close to you, or simply wanting to better understand the experiences and needs of people who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing during a breast cancer journey. However you come to this group, you are welcome here. We know that breast cancer experiences can be challenging to navigate, and that communication, access to information, appointments, treatment conversations and support services can bring additional barriers for people who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. This forum has been created to help people connect, share experiences and learn from one another in a safe and supportive environment. In this group, you are encouraged to: 🌿Share your own experiences of breast cancer as a person who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing. 🌿Ask questions and reflect on what has helped you feel informed, included and supported. 🌿Share practical tips for appointments, treatment, communication, interpreting, captioning, written information and support services. 🌿Support others who may be going through similar experiences. 🌿Learn more about how to better support someone with breast cancer who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Whether you are newly diagnosed, living with or beyond breast cancer, caring for or supporting someone else, or wanting to become a better ally, this group is here to help create connection, understanding and practical support.
