Any swimming instructors here? Did you work through chemo?
Hi everyone
I'm working as a casual swim instructor, I've been out of work since surgery and I was thinking if any of you continued teaching during chemo? I am afraid of getting sick since my immunity would be compromise and I teach young kids. But I also have two toddlers that go to daycare so maybe the germs might already be at home.
Am I crazy to think about going back to the pool to teach?
Is it worth it? What do I do? I have yet to commit for another term of teaching cause I'm unsure how I'll be. Feeling a little lost about work. I'm also studying full time for my Masters.

Sorry to see nobody has replied. What did you decide to do? And what did your oncologist recommend or suggest?
In my patient handouts I was given it said to avoid jacuzzis and saunas due to infection risk.
I hope everything is working out for you!

Hi kiwipoo , I hope you are going OK with your chemo xx
I am guessing you would have been advised by your chemo team to not do the swim lessons during chemo, as winter-spring mentioned, due to infection risk. Plus - the chance of catching bugs (cold/flu) from them too .... you don't want any of those when going thru chemo. xx
Take care & wishing you the best for your continuing treatment xx
