A lump in the road
Hi I am Amanda. It has been a challenging few years to say the least. I was just finally coming out of the other side of stress related health issues, a break up of a long relationship, closing down my psychology business, a new relationship, being a single mum of 3 and having no money when "what the Hell.." further tests…

3 weeks post op
Three weeks ago I had left mastectomy, lymph node removal and DIEP flap reconstruction. All went well and I got the all clear no cancer in the lymph nodes. So glad all the chemo, radiation had done the trick. The last two drain tubes came out last Monday so walking around is a lot easier now without my 'two friends'.…

I had it done by an artist on the Central Coast NSW. Standing almost nude in her kitchen was surreal, but she made me feel comfortable.…

Lat dorsi reconstruction.
Five months on from my bi-lat mastectomy and I am now looking at reconstruction. Although my op was nipple and skin sparing complications meant a return to OT and the loss of my left nipple and some skin. I've been to my plastic surgeon - seems my only option is a lat dorsi with implants. I'm too thin for a tram, and…

Followed by 16 weeks of Taxol with 4 doses of Carboplatin. 1 month break then 5 weeks of radiation. Now I am considering my options for reconstruction. Tram flap vs implants in the…
