I had a double as I couldn’t face having a diagnosis down the track if it was found in my other breast. I’m glad I had the double as this meant no radiation and protected myself as best I could for the future.
It’s confronting and not something you can prepare for but now I have options for prosthetics and maybe reconstructive surgery. My chest is even, albeit flat.
