Today I had a Mastectomy
That subject line is very hard to write and even harder to comprehend that it applies to me. I love my breasts and am not happy that now there is only one.
Anyway, I have had very little pain, in fact the drip injection site is giving me more grief that the mastectomy and aux clearance side!
Morphine on tap. I was very uncomfortable with the thought of morphine as I have never had it before, I was encouraged to use and and am currently pain free. I have used it twice so far.
And I've only cried twice so far!!! I think I am doing really well 😀. Had about one billion hot flushes though...
Take care everyone. Back to my book 'Boots to Bliss' who knows maybe I will take (part of) that walk...morphine talking methinks LOL.

Good luck with your surgery. Staying positive will certainly help, but if you feel sad that's ok too. Do what you need to help you get through each day.

Im glad your surgery went well and your coping. I have mine in a few weeks. Dont know how i will feel, trying to stay positive.

- Woohoo drain all out. Besides the doctors who hadn't done it before amidst much discussion on how to do it and me looking for the nearest exit, it was eventually done by a lovely nurse who had, with them watching. Didn't feel a thing so all that bloody worry for nothing but oh what a relief. Next step pathology results tomorrow. Have a great day everyone. xoxo

- @kitkatb mine didn't hurt at all....... it fell out, which was a bit of a bugger at the time, as it was still draining quite a bit. However, nearly 3 years later, I don't think it made much difference
