surgery question

Hi Ann58​ , If I have correctly read your posts, you are having a lumpectomy on 26th August. Your surgeon is, of course, the appropriate person to provide information on exactly what your surgery and post surgery situation involves. I can only comment on my experience. After my initial biopsy giving me my diagnosis, I had a lumpectomy which involved an overnight stay. There were no drains involved and minimal discomfort which was easily managed by painkilling medication. Waiting for results was almost the worst part and, unfortunately, my surgery did not result in clear margins so there was further surgery etc to come (which did involve drains). Hopefully, yours will be relatively straightforward and I wish you a speedy recovery. Good luck!
