Surgery Day

This photo was sneakily taken by my best friend Danielle, we didn't know she was taking it. Jason was giving me the prep talk just before they were about to wheel me off for surgery. As you can tell by the look on my face I was scared and fighting the tears.

  • Thank you everyone, surgery went well. The cancer had not spread to my lymph nodes but I still might need chemo as a precaution. I need to find out more about that one. I did receive a lovely rainbow coloured drain bag that looked like something leftover from Mardi Gras! ;) My god-daughter has stated that she wants it when I'm done with it which was fine by me! I get the drain out tomorrow :)

  • Thanks for sharing your photo especially with the glamorous white socks we have to wear these days. :)

I hope everything went well and you are pain free & able to move freely around now. I hope you got the lovely package given to us in Victoria which is made by a lady who had bc & has a beaut bag to carry the drainage bottles around in.When they are taken out & you no longer need the bag you tend to feel like something's missing when you go for walks.

All the very best in your recovery.

  • Thanks so much for sharing this special photo. I remember this all too well as I am 8 weeks post mastectomy surgery, it certainly brought back memories for me. It really is a poignant, , life changing moment. Part of me just wanted to get  rid of the diseased breast but the other part of me was devastated. It helps me a lot to see I  am not alone!!!
