Right mastectomy with axillary clearance pm tomorrow. Feeling very anxious. Not sure I'll get too much sleep tonight but keen to get this done! Recieved my berli bra in the post today tho
Yeah I know the surgeon said I'm as tough as old boots. We're all different. With the core biopsy it was the pressure they applied to try and stop the bleeding. They had given me a run down prior of what was to happen but they forgot to mention the pressure. Pleased that you don't have to endure that again. Hope you are able to destress and prepare mentally for this next phase. Take care xx
@iserbrown Oh gosh you didnt find it a struggle? it was excruciating! and yes so I found the core biopsy very difficult also. Good news I rang my Surgeons office and they said theyd had a call from the Nurse hmmm...and NO definitely not needed at all thank goodness!
@Molly001 hope you are traveling ok, hoping you are recovering well. xx
When I had my mastectomy and reconstruction I didn't require it on the unaffected side and would imagine yours is for same reason prophylactic. ..treatment and staging were already done and dusted. I know scorpionqueen didn't need hers repeated.
Mel - I was one that didn't find the sentinel node biopsy a struggle! I had it done in hospital the night before mastectomy. I thought the core biopsy where they applied mountains of pressure to stop the bleeding was more a problem to me! If you're cancer free I'd imagine that it wouldn't be necessary! Take care and good luck with your shopping for the correct garments et cetera Take care xx
Hi Molly - pleased to see your post! Great nursing care, good rest and a little exercise and you'll be on your way to a good recovery! Hope you can catch up on your sleep! Take care xx
