Hi Christine, your pain sounds very much what I have been having for nearly 2 weeks now. I saw the doctors and the physio yesterday and I don't have cording but they think I have Lymphoedema of the left breast. I don't have it under the armpit which is the most common, but most of my left breast especially the nipple area is affected. I have been doing my exercises daily so not sure why it happened, but a fluid build up can happen. They won't give me antibiotics as they say there is no infection as such. They showed me how todo afew massages to help drain the fluid from the breast. So I started those this morning along with the usual other exercises that we all have todo post surgery.
I haven't received my treatment plan yet as they're still doing afew more tests but I know that radiation is a given although I was asked to start the Tamoxifen from today whilst waiting for the rest of my treatment plan. I have oestrogen receptors so I have to take this tablet as I also have rheumatoid arthritis. So I am researching this medication today before I go off to the pharmacist.
I am very happy to hear that you are doing so much better after the aches and pains and that you have finished radiotherapy. I have yet todo any of this and I am quite nervous especially with the pain I am having with the left breast now. I am assuming that radiotherapy will aggravate the condition and pain more.
I really just wish to be given my treatment plan so I can finish everything and get on with my life. I have taken 4 weeks off work and it looks like I have to take more time off. The nurses gave me a compressor, boob tube to wear with my surgical bra and say it will help with the Lymphoedema in the breast. I hope so.
Take care
