starting my 'journey'
I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago and had a lumpectomy last and sentinel node biopsy last Wednesday. I'll see my surgeon for results and treatment plan this Thursday. Things are moving so quick but I think I'm handling it well so far. It's good to find you and get some support.

- BluepsiderMemberI am sorry that you ended up in hospital. Wow I just realised that I have not been on here for a long time. I too ended up in hospital with a temp of 38 too. They also could not tell me what caused my infection. I hope you are doing well now.Sign in to react to this post

Gosh Katia, so sorry you've had a hard time. I can't comment on handling an infection, thankfully I never had to go down that path. I did avoid crowds and sick people though. I work with special needs children and didn't want to take the risk of catching something from them so no work for 3 months. My sister has a lung condition and was told to stay away from from immunosuppressed people so I avoided family gatherings. I did the online shopping thing. I guess just minimise contact. I'm told that day 7 to day 14 you are most vulnerable. After saying that I also think that its not good to shut yourself away, you still need to get out and about. My daughter and I go for walks in the evening and I have so loved this special time with her.
Good luck with your second cycle, nurture yourself. Take care and keep us posted with your journey.

hi all
here i am again. i've been not well and in hospital for all last week and was discharged on the weekend. i was admitted with temperature over 38 and as was told i went to the hospital and was told i have an infection but after many many tests, xrays, scans they couldn't figure out where the infection was. i was given all sorts of antibiotics and other medications i lost count. i'm feeling great this week and have been slowly catching on things around the house. i am being extremely careful and have asked family and friends not to visit if they are or suspect to be sick. children in the family have been kept away from me (which is sad but children don't know if they are coming down with something). i am being very paranoid but after what i went through last week i think it's justified. i go for my second course tomorrow and hope that all will be ok.
please let me know if you had an experience like mine and how you got around it.
i went yesterday to the shopping centre with a mask on to have my hair shaved off as it is starting to come off in chunks. oh well sooner or later i had to do it. i've got my scarve, beanie and wig so i am set to go out if i can.
love to all
Katia

For me all my cycles were similar so I imagine you'll be OK for the wedding. Pack your anti nausea meds and an antihistamine for just in case and have fun.

Hi Katia,
So glad that your side effects are minimal so far. How did you go with rescheduling your next one?
