Started Project Reconstruction
Well it is done! I have had the mastectomy, tissue expander put in and now have 250ml of fluid in there. I feel like I have a bra full of sand paper. My plastic surgeon said this was a project. Gradually expand the skin to a desired size, let sit for a few months and then back under the knife to replace with a perm implant and fix up the other side to match. Sounds more like a cake than a breast!!
Fingers crossed all going well so far, other than the sandpaper!! Back at work 3 weeks after.
Must admit I do get a little teary every so often. But I must keep in mind that this could have been a whole lot worse. Thought I would freak out when first looking at my wound, but didn't do that either. My husband has been a treasure. Looking after me like a queen. What did I ever deserve to have such a wonderful man in my life!!
If there is anyone else on the Sunshine Coast in Qld I can highly recommend my surgeons. They have been wonderful. Dr. Greg Mcdermontt, Dr. Emma Secombe and the Kawana Private hospital. All sooo wonderful and treating me like a real person instead $'s in their pocket. I have had a couple of surgeons like that before.
Anyway back to work!
