I had one very enlarged node biopsied before surgery, and it was malignant. As I had several more just as large, I wasn't surprised that they were taken out too, and a few more just to be on the safe side. As it turned out, only the biopsied node was malignant, cancer cells can irritate tissue around them and the rest of the enlarged nodes were just mightily peeved. Seemed then, and now, a perfectly sensible measure to remove them. Good luck.
