Hi Terrie, I had left skin and nipple sparing mastectomy with immediate reconstruction using silicone implant. Didn't need chemo or radiotherapy. Was off work for a total of 8 weeks and that was because my second drain refused to play. In the end my surgeon removed it as she thought the drain itself was causing irritation and stopping my fluid levels from dropping. I returned to work the day after my drain was removed. I completed two days work the first week, three days the second week, four days third week and then back to five days after that. I do know that had I at any stage asked to leave early I would have been shunted out the door faster than I could blink, but if I hadn't had the drain playing up I would have been back at work much sooner.
