Dear "Get through this"
8 rounds of chemo, gosh that's tough! I did 6 rounds of TCH and finished about 7 weeks ago. Some days I thought I felt better but nothing compared to now...........I am nearly my old self. The horrible fog is clearing and I have a little vertigo and my feet are still like ice blocks. I had a double mastectomy 3 weeks ago. It's frightening but not nearly as bad hopefully for you as you imagine like me. I was released after one night and I came out of op at 8pm. In hine sight I was too "HIGH" and should not have gone home but my daughter was with me. I was completly numb for 8 days and had very little pain. But it did kick in after 8 days and I found my arms/shoulders did not work so well. Some days and still do I feel far to tight all around my chest and under my arms. On the left side all my lympth nodes were removed. I start radiation in 2 weeks. I am dissappointed at my hair growth but have learnt to have patience. I had a pair of very large breasts 20G and I do miss them but being flat chested has it's bonuses. I only had cancer in one and decided to get rid of both. I think being lobsided horrid. I quite enjoy the feeling of being completly flat and no way have I ever entertained reconstruction. I am 55 yrs old and solo. That would be a huge impact on decsion making I think. Good luck for your op. It's never as bad as you imagine. There is life after cancer. Go get it.
cyber hugs and thinking about you
Sarah
