Prosthetic

Hi there, this is my first post. I have had a single mastectomy of the right breast in October 2026 and recently given the all clear to get myself a prosthetic.  I got an Amoena gel prosthetic which I am very happy with but I am finding that when I wear it in my mastectomy bra I am getting really itchy inside my scar. My scar is still numb so scratching is useless 🤦‍♀️. Just wondering if anyone else has this issue? if it will go away? or is this still part of the healing?

Hi HKG67 - just to add to the conversation and while you try get to the bottom of the itchiness - you are more than welcome to contact our Helpline 1800 500 258 to get a temporary cotton prosthesis in the meantime 🙂

Hi there HKG67 , as we wait for others to share their experience, I thought I would just check in to see how you're feeling today? If the itchiness has become particlarly uncomfortable, it might be worth a visit to your GP or breast care nurse to get some relief. I hope this feeling subsides for you very soon!
