Pain from armpit to behind nipple
Hi! For a week I've had a sort of burning pain when i stretch my arm over my head that goes from my armpit to my breast and under my nipple. Now my breast hurts to touch. At first I thought it might be muscle but it's different. It's been 2 months since i finished radiation and have had no other problems since then.
I've had a lumpectomy and then sentinel node biopsy (2 nodes, both clear).
Is this normal?? No swelling that i can see and i exercise a bit

- Thanks everyone I really appreciate the advice. I was a bit thrown because I play softball and have been pitching and making sure to keep exercising so when my arm suddenly started hurting to stretch, out of nowhere I was a little worried, but you've all made me feel better <3 <3 <3
- I've had pain since June 2017 with the lumpectomy and right total axillary clearance. The pain was initially in my right armpit to my waist and down right arm to elbow. Plus pain in breast from scar tissue. I am now on only two Panadol a day rather than 6. Recently the lump under my lymph node armpit scar got warmer and more pronounced. The GP could feel the lump and said it felt like a lymph node...though supposedly all removed. I had an ultrasound and all clear. (I was pretty fed up with the thought that it was something sinister as my treatment lasted 16 months.) I don't seem to get the pain to my waist anymore. Since I started light weights for half an hour twice a week my pain in the arm has reduced dramatically over only 4 sessions! But I would get it checked out for peace of mind. We all need some of that and less stress. It's the first time I have worried about recurrence so I feel or felt totally shocked. Xxx
- I get cording under my arm from the scar site and halfway to the elbow but the actual scar has gotten quite tight since radiation and there is some sort of adhesion from the scar so the physio works the whole area.
- @MezDiaz I have cording that goes from my armpit to underneath my breast at the front. In the beginning it was like a piece of sinewy piano wire that I could see as well as feel. I was given stretches to do by EP and breast care nurse and keeping up the exercise was fine for me.

Agree with the others! Get it checked out!
Take care - Radiation can stir things up with regard to cording and it does tighten the tissue so you may need to see a physio who deals with this (some physios wouldn't have the foggiest). However, if the burning is hot or red as @zoffiel said, go to the GP straight away.
- If there I any suggestion of heat or redness you should head off to your GP . Cellulitis is a possibility, even some time after surgery. It's a pin in the arse (or boob in this case) but not uncommon. Mx
- I wonder if it could be a bit of cording? I’d probably get it checked out just for peace of mind x
