New diagnosis of Phyllodes tumor was quite a shock
Hi my name is Shaila,
I was I diagnosed by core biopsy on Friday as Borderline to maligna
nt.
I am 54 years old with 3 adult children all breastfeed.
I had a fibro ademoma removed at 28, and since then have suffered yearly mammograms getting recalled on average every 2 years for fine needles or core biopsies.
My beasts have always been lumpy so I really detected nothing new myself.
When I went see the breast surgeon after my last round of torture he said the right was a cyst so until he told me I was wondering what name he was giving the one in the left beast. Well that is my tumour only 2.7 cm luckily.
I see a breast surgeon again to plan surgery on the 10th of October. My reason for delay was there was so much bruising and swelling from the core biopsy he asked me to come back on the 24th.
On the 2nd of October my furniture is removed as I move from Sydney to Brisbane and I drive there on the 4th.
So the 10th is the second working day after the long weekend.
Friday night I was so stressed, packing for holidays, totally cleaning my unit for a rental inspection the next day and trying to deal with the fact I had a tumour. I was so happy I found this group.
Holiday was booked 3 months ago otherwise I would have cancelled.
So when I go back I continue training my replacement, keep on packing and wait till the 10th for my surgery date.
In an hour on Friday afternoon I contacted Mater Private Breast Care Centre and the arranged the appointment. I had to make the snap decision do I stay in Sydney a bit longer or wait till I get to Brisbane. I have an appointment with Dr Lambley, does anyone ave any experience with him?
