Nasty Pasties

Mon 25th Feb 3pm I was told I have breast cancer with malignant tissue in the lump - 2cm ball under the left nipple which shows signs of spreading to 4cm; and malignant tissue in a lump under my arm in the lymph nodes.

GP organised for  a 5.30pm appointment then with a breast surgeon, Dr Jim Kollias. He told me I should probably have the whole breast removed (or he could try to keep a bit of it) as well as lymph node(s) under my arm.

He gave me a great book to read and I felt confident in his approach and his directions.

  • So sorry to hear about your breast cancer diagnosis-I was keeping my fingers crossed for you that it was nothing. It sounds like you have good support from family and friends and ofcourse from your pink sisters here at this network. Having the body and bones scans can be scary but are a necessary evil. Waiting on the results is probably even harder.I guess you'll get an operation date soon and it sounds like you'll have a mastectomy(your other blog). Many of us here have had mastectomies so "call"out if you need advice. You will feel more in control when a plan is in place for you So stay ++busy till then and know we are thinking of you.
