more surgery
going in for more surgery tomorrow morning, not looking forward to it as they want to cut out more of the area where the cancer was. So over it all. I am starting to feel like a science experiment. I can't understand why they want to cut more away?
I had surgery to remove cancer and lymph nodes back in April, then chemo, now more surgery and after this radiation therapy. The last MRI I had showed no cancer. But yet they still want to invade my body with more invasive procedures. They tell me this is to get it all and give me the best chance of being clear of cancer. But I don't know,
My body is looking and feeling like crap. I just want my body back. Cancer is a huge inconvenience in my life and one that I don't need or have the time for. AGHHHHHHHHH

thank you. they said that there was more DCIS there after the surgery in April and they just wanted to make sure they got everything.

and that is what they think happened from my diagnosis of DCIS in 2012. They think they might have just missed one cell or two when they removed my breast but I remember my Breast oncologist (surgeon) telling me they removed all the breast tissue.
I'm hanging in there.

thank you and praying all goes well for you. It sucks totally. As I said this is just such a huge inconvenience to my life. One I just don't have time for.

Dissapointing yes...but try to remember they are doing the best for you they can with minimal disfigurement. They would not be doing it if they didn't think it was necessary. Just 1 cell can start redividing and then it would be a recurrence requiring yet more treatment. I know you feel down but fingers crossed this is it. Take care. Kath x

Hi Vinn, I know that you've said the MRI showed no cancer but were your margins clear last surgery? Hoping your results are awesome this time, your recovery post surgery is speedy and that you are back at your zumba classes before you know it. All the best, will be thinking of you. Xx Cath

Damn, you poor love. I know how you feel. After my lumpectomy the surgeon said we had to operate again as the margins were not clear. I had no idea this may happen. But from reading different posts on here it seems it is common.
Try and say to yourself......yes go back in and get every bit of it out!!
Hang in there, remember we are stronger than all this.
