Mepitel film

Has anyone used Mepitel film during radiation?
There is lots of info stating that it reduces burns but I'd like some first-hand experience please.
  • I used it.  30 treatments and no burns whatsoever.  The breast care nurses were very impressed.
  • I swear by mepitel l still burnt severely in the last 5 sessions but a combo of mepitel and solugel were amazing especialy l was able to put the cream straight on the mepital and then lay it on meaning a no touch procedure. Good luck
  • Hi @Jax1964 mepitel is highly recommended for breast/chest wall radiotherapy. When it works, it apparently works well. I had 30 zaps and started out with the mepitel but couldn't keep the darn stuff on. I have oily skin type and 2 little kids that keep me very busy and active. Every morning in the shower whole sections would let go and need replacing. After the first week my nurses said the on/off of the film was defeating the purpose of reducing friction in the area and probably doing more harm than good. I was switched to creams. This is apparently not the norm most people need minimal patching and get good results. Redness started within the first week for me and my skin started breaking down week 4. It was a mess but healed quickly with creams and dressings. Was a nuisance more than anything. Hopefully some ladies who kept the film the whole time can share their experiences.
