Managing hot flushes & mastectomy?
Hi there! I’m 43 and just had my last round of chemo for her2+ breast cancer. I’ll be having surgery in 2.5 weeks, likely a double mastectomy. I’m Australian but I live in Paris, so it’s winter here ...
So sorry to see you joining us here BCinParis ... I hope you have good family & friend support in Paris. I hope you got thru your chemo without too many side effects - the hot flushes are a common one :(
You've found the right spot here tho, for support & info from those who've 'been there, done that'! So hopefully we'll be able to smooth the way for your own story. Whack up ANY question - remember there are NO dumb questions!!!
Mine was ILC (Invasive Lobular Cancer) - I was lucky to only have the one lumpectomy, rads & tablets .... and have recently finished with the tabs now!
Hot flushes are the PITS! The link below mentions Veoza in reducing them ....

Another medication, called Oxybutynin (also used in bladder control for those with incontinence) has been successful in reducing hot flushes.

You can also put 'Hot Flushes' in the 'search' area - and click on NEWEST ... for the most recent posts. Many members have bad hot flushes.
