@goingdancing, I also had a bilateral mastectomy almost a year ago. I had a feeling of great tightness right across my chest for at least a month thereafter. It felt as if I was wearing a really tight bra. Also quite a bit of upper arm and shoulder soreness. Remember, aside from the surgery itself, which causes a lot of trauma to underlying muscles and so on, there is the position that you are placed in for the surgery. This alone would result in a lot of muscle tenderness from being in an unnatural position for a few hours. You are only ten days post surgery, and it will improve. Having said all that, if you are truly concerned, and think that there is more to it than this, then please attend your hospital for a check up. Better safe and reassured, than worried on your own.
