Dried blood Collection.
A friend in America has just had a double mastectomy. Apparently she has dried blood in the surgery area. The surgeon has told her that he may have to operate to remove it if it doesn't emulsify by it...

It sounds like a haematoma - my husband that something similar after surgery (bowel cancer) - his was bit dramatic as it started leaking blood copiously through his shirt while he was lying on the bed doing Sudoku! But apparently not - issue is whether it is old blood or new blood? Or is it not possible to tell? Suctioning it out may be fine if it is old blood (in which case it probably is a haematoma) but raises questions if it's not. Rather hard to provide any help at such a distance...... Best wishes to your friend though.
