Double Mastectomy and Reconstruction

Hi  I had a double mastectomy with reconstruction on 24 September.   Prior to surgery I had 12 weeks of chemotherapy.    I would like to return to work at some stage.  How long should I take off wo...

Hi Paula 

Thanks so much for your reply.   My surgery was mastectomy and then direct to implant.  The recovery has gone well.   Mostly I am tired and a little uncomfortable.     I have discussed with the surgeons and they both advised to take a little extra time off as I went directly from 12 weeks chemo, 2 weeks break and then surgery.  I also had a lumpectomy prior to commencing chemo.     I will probably work from home next week and then ease my way back into work slowly.

    Hi again and great to hear surgeons encouraged you to take a bit more time. Sometimes slow and steady wins the race. Fantastic you have a work from home option too. How times have changed. :)
