How are you all???
When I went for my very first visit with my surgeon. I was terrified that I would have to lose my breast, especially with hair loss a reality too with chemo!!!
He asked me if I wanted a Mastectomy right off the bat & I was in such a shock just thinking about it! I said no definitely not!!! He said that it was fine by him. it was such a relief to hear him say that. But a friend of mine endured three operations, each time taking more & more of the breast due to the spread of the cancer. It took her 11 years to have a reconstruction done. She was traumatised to having had a Mastectomy through force & not choice!!! So as for women who have a choice, it can't be a very easy one can it? Living with a choice would have to be easier than living with no choice in my opinion. But every woman has to decide for themselves. I commend any lady who makes the choice to remove one or both breasts. But as far as I went with my choice...I commend anyone who decides not to as well!!! All the advice & knowledge in the world are one thing, but making the choice is another.
All ther best to any lady going through this process at the moment & good luck with the future.
Take care everyone Mia XOXO
